Udupi : All India Congress Committee President Rahul Gandhi arrived in Tenka Yermal near Kaup here on Tuesday, 20^th March by chopper from Mangaluru International Airport to Government College ground Helipad along with chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Congress Parliamentary Party in Lok Sabha, Veerappa Moily, MP, KC Venugopal, in-charge of Congress affairs in the state, Pramod Madhwaraj district in charge minister, Vinaykumar Sorake Kaup Legislative Assembly member and former district in-charge minister, Priyanka Mary Francis Deputy Commissioner and other leaders were present and welcomed the Rahul Gandhi.

As soon his arrival, Rahul saw students outside the school nearby and interacted with students prior to inaugurate Rajiv Gandhi National Academy of Political Education at Tenka Yermal. In his inaugural address Rahul Gandhi said that there should be need to increase the Seva Dal activities, so that the discipline will be increased. All over the country there should be need to make Congress stronger. Sevadal is the soldiers of Congress party and need to work hard to get our government. There should be need to training for the workers of the congress.

 Later, Rahul Gandhi visited the house of Kishore Suvarna, a fisherman and former grama panchayat member on the seashore at Tenka Yermal which he heard the views of the fisherman regarding the some of the problems faced by large fishermen in the coastal Karnataka. Siddaramaiah and Pramod Madhwaraj were present during the visit.

He then proceeds towards Padubidri to the stage programme. In his address Rahul Gandhi said that this land of Narayan Guru. We are all one. Narayan Guru said that those who stand in front of glass mirror, they are the people who worship God that He is one to all. We are the believers’ of Narayana Guru. This is the state of great Basavanna who walked and lived with the people. There are millions of followers of both Narayana Guru and Basavanna in this state. Even though BJP speaks on these people, they do not follow these great people because they do not follow their principles. They will praise these people but makes practice of dividing the people themselves.

Rahul said that Modi during the election promised the nation many things that everybody knows. This is the land of four nationalized banks. The Congress government made nationalization of these banks to get better facilities and benefits from government owned banks. There is no money in the bank now. The top people who taken away money with them. Everyone knew the situation of the economy in the country. The Congress government in Karnataka waived Rs. Rs. 8000 crore of farmers loans. Our government has given support price for the farmers at large. Our government has providing food to poorest of the poor. Our government under several schemes taken care of all section of the society, he said.

Modi government promised three things that he will provide employment for the youths, Is it his promise fulfilled? Our government had created 2 crore jobs for the youth. Modi said Rs 15 lakh to be credited to all account holders in the bank. Is it fulfilled? Whereas our Congress government under Siddaramaih has been providing 3 lakh interest free loan and also free rice to almost one crore families of the state. Is it Modi provide any interest free loan to farmers? Girls are getting free education upto post graduation. Our government has helped three times better than the previous governments in the state, he said.

BJP has been indulged in divide and rule by spreading hatred among the people. BJP says in the 70 years Congress has done nothing and insulting thousands of people who have sacrificed their lives in building strong nation like India. Our nation is very much developed only because of Congress rule in the country. It is possible to develop because of the sacrifice of thousands of the people of India, he said.

Earlier Siddaramiah spoke on the development of the state. He said during his five year rule, all manifesto demands were met and fulfilled rather more than other schemes were fulfilled. What we said that all fulfilled.

Earlier Pramod Madhwaraj also spoke during the occasion. Vinay Kumar Sorake local MLA spoke key note address and welcomed the gatherings. Abdul Gafoor conferred the programme.
