Udupi : Republican Party of India (RPI) will contest in Udupi Legislative Assembly seat and in the first list Shekar Havanje will be the RPI candidate, said R. Mohan Raj, State President of RPI (Prakash Ambedkar Group).

Speaking with media persons at Udupi Press Club during the press meet on Monday, 2^nd April, 2018, Mohan Raj said that under the leadership of Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s grandson Prakash Y Ambedkar, the Republic Party of India will contest 20 seats in forthcoming legislative assembly seats in Karnataka State.

He said that the RPI founded by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar on 1956. In order to alive the national constitution, the party held several movements in the country. Since four years in Karnataka the party working to save the constitution which has been in danger. Congress, BJP and Janata Dal Secular parties have failed to protect the constitution and these parties working against the national constitution, he said.

In order to protect the National Constitution, Republican Party of India organized the meeting and released 10 contestants for various legislative assembly constituencies and he requested to support the RPI in the election for those who supporting the constitution and working for students, for neglected, for women and for rights of the people.

State President of RPI R. Mohan Raj said that the party Chief Prakash Ambedkar has finalized the list of 10 contestants for the Karnataka Assembly election in the first round. They are Ankush Gokale from Humanabad, Shekar Havanje from Udupi, Parasuram Neelanayaka from Bagalkote, Shastri Hasamani from Babaleshwar, Muktum Shah Ali Nadaf from Vijayanagar, S. Shivalingam from K.G.F. (S.T) of Kolar District, R. Mohanraj from C. V. Ramannagar (S.T.), J. K. Gopal from H. D. Kote (S.T.) from Mysore, H. B. Devaraj from Piriyapattana of Mysure District, Heerappa M. Kasan from Yadgiri.

CPI, CPI (M), Aam Admi Party, Welfare Party of India and other parties will tie up with RPI for the assembly election.
