Udupi : Dr. Nerry Cornelio elected as President of International Federation of Karnataka Christians Association,  (IFKCA), Bengaluru (Reg), Udupi Unit for the two years 2018/20 during the annual general meeting held at Don Bosco Hall, here on Saturday, 7^th April, 2018.

The other office bearers elected are Vice Presidents Wilson Rodrigues of Shirva and Roshni Oliveira of Sasthan, Steevan Colaco as General Secretary, Joseph Rebello of Kallianpur as Joint Secretary, Richard Dias of Kallianpur as Hon. Treasurer, Melwyn Aranha of Shirva as PRO, Boniface D’Souza of Udupi as Membership Growth Chairman and Robert D’Souza as Political Coordinator. Meanwhile the executive members are also elected during the election.The election was conducted by Shallet Furtado, Advocate.

Earlier the general meeting was held under the President Prashanth Jathanna. Dr. Nerry Cornelio placed the report of the Association. Boniface D’Souza placed the statement of accounts.

Speaking the occasion, Prashanth Jathanna said that there is need to establish the strongest Christian associations in order to protect our rights and the people. He gave some of the instances how the IFKCA supported to the needy since its existence. If we all various Christian dominations united, we can solve our various problems facing especially now a days. At the outset, united Christians’ associations we need badly.

Earlier founder President of IFKCA Udupi unit, Louis Lobo spoke the keynote address and explained the services for the community at large since 2008 churches attack at Mangaluru. IFKCA also supports for the other social causes for the community.

Prashanth Jathanna, outgoing President was felicitated during the occasion for his outstanding services for the IFKCA, Udupi unit.

Newly elected President Dr. Nery Cornelio also spoke during the occasion and asked the cooperation of the members to make good of the association. Dr. Gerald Pinto former Principal of Milagres College, Kallianpur and former President of Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh also spoke during the occasion and wishes for the new team elected.

Louis Lobo welcomed the gatherings. Richard Dias delivered vote of thanks and Joseph Rebello compered the programme.
