Udupi : The annual feast of Milagres B Ward of Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur near here celebrated on Sunday, 15th April, 2018.
The feast began with thanksgiving mass at Milagres Cathedral for the ward patron Saint Pius X at 8 am. Rev Fr. Lancy Fernandes, SJ, Principal of Milagres English Medium Schools. In his most beautiful homily pointed out in regard to experience as per the readings from the Holy Bible.
The annual feast get together of the ward people held at Ivan and Jacintha D’Souza at Milagres College Road from 6.30 pm. Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo Rector of Milagres Cathedral, Rev Fr. Rolwin Aranha Assistant parish priest and Rev Fr. Lancy Fernandes sj were present.
The programme began with invocation prayers led by Cecilia Lewis and welcome dance by Furtado sisters. Smt. Felciana Lewis, Ward Gurkar as well as Secretary of Milagres Parish Pastoral Council welcomed the gatherings and offered roses to the guests.
The annual report of the Ward presented by Renita Pais and report of the cooperative association of ward was presented by Jacintha D’Souza.
Dr. Nery Cornelio, Vice President of parish pastoral council gave gratitude to ward people for the support for the needy as well as support financially for the midday meal in the College.
Fr. Lancy Fernandes distributed prizes for winners of various games held. Fr. Rolwin Aranha graced prayers’ on the meal at the evening.
Rose Convent nuns, Leslie Lewis former Vice President of PPC , Gurkars of various wards and the guests were present. Jacintha D’Souza proposed vote of thanks and Voltar Periera compared the programme. Large number of ward people participated during the annual feast of the ward.
