Udupi : Leader of newly formed Bharatiya Janashakti Congress (BJC) party and former DySP Anupama Shenoy filed her nomination papers for Kaup Legislative Assembly Constituency candidate on Saturday, 21^st April, 2018 at Old Zilla Panchayat Office, Bannanje here.

Speaking to media persons after filed the nominations, Anupama Shenoy alleged that if Vinay Kumar Sorake ‘Harikara of Developments, why he was sacked from the Siddaramiah cabinet and why Congress not interested to keep in the Cabinet minister. After Vinay Kumar Sorake’s removal from the cabinet, she believed that he had worked in some areas in the constituency. But, if he is really concerned about the people, then he would have expressed concern to protect the interest of his voters in the constituency, she said.

She said that her party was registered in February and allotted Lady Finger symbol by the election commission. We have planned to field around 15 candidates in the present election. Eight party candidates filed their nominations on Saturday and we have already released a list of 30 candidates. There are still three days left to file nomination. In regard to campaigning in the constituencies, we have already started home to home visit campaign. The response of the people looks very positive, she said.

Speaking to she said her main campaigning subject will be violence against women. When I was in the police department, so many women would come with complaints of family disputes. I believe that there is lack of guidance for women in domestic crimes. I will help the people to sort out their problems.

She hopes, she will win in the election and if she loose the election, she will focus on the strengthening of the part and set good platform for the future elections. She will contest the Lok Sabha election in future if she wins this election, she said.

In regard to Vinay Kumar Sorake, candidate from Congress party, she said she never blamed him for corruption that she has no evidence on him against the corruption. She has blamed Pramod Madhwaraj in the case of Hublot watch issue that she had proper documents. She said that she will not a file a complaint against anybody if she have no strong evidence of corruption. Vinay Kumar Sorake started development just before one year for the sake of the upcoming elections. He started the works of roads, bridges and other works. He also concreted the road near my house, she said.
