Kemmannu News Network, 09-05-2018 17:04:39
Udupi : Congress will form the government with absolute majority in Karnataka and we do not bother about the forming the government, said Ghulam Nabi Azad MP and former Union Minister here on Wednesday, 9th May here during the press meet held at Congress Bhavan, Brahmagiri here.
He said that several people asked me that if Congress can fall short of some seats, what Congress will do. Then I told them that we have a strong base and people will select Congress as like previous election. People will elect us on the basis of performance and surely we are way ahead of other political parties like BJP. We do not believe in hallow slogans like BJP and we do not believe in false promises like BJP, he said.
He said Modi’s government at centre failed to fulfill the promises of the people in the country. All sections of the people like youth, women and the poor are disappointed with the Modi government. He said that he told to bring back black money and that money will be deposited in bank accounts. The unemployment, price rise and other issues, Modi was failed to fulfill the promises during the election of previous Lok Sabha. Modi assured of creating two crore jobs every year. But as per the Union Labour department since three years, the Union government has given just 3.5 lakh jobs, he said.
The Prime Minister’s primary responsibility is to win the confidence of all sections of the people, regions and religions across the country. But unfortunately, the Prime Minister is not focused on that. He has either not understood the complexity or the country or he doesn’t want to. I believe that the people of Karnataka who are aware of these facts have been supporting the Congress in the assembly election, he said.
During the UPA government at centre, we introduced the RTI and right to education. We also scheme which provide employment opportunities to unskilled workers to the tune of 13 crore people. Hence, the rural economy flourished. During our ruling at the centre, we made less promises, but delivered 10 times more than what we had promised, he said.
The performance of Siddaramaih government much more appreciated that he do fulfilled most of the promises when he made during the election. He has given rice at Re 1 and free milk and food for school going pupils. People of Karnataka well aware that Siddaramiah led government fulfilled their promises, he said.
Speaking about the Modi wave in Karnataka, Gulam Nabi Azad said there was no such Narendra Modi wave in Karnataka. It was only Modi wave created by BJP, he said.
District Congress President Janardhan Tonse, Congress leaders M A Gafoor, Nagesh Udyavar, Bhaskar Rao Kidiyoor, Robert D’Souza and others were present during the press meet.
