Udupi : The success of sweeping all five assembly seats by the BJP possible on account of relentless efforts put in by party workers over the last two years, said Mattar Rathnakar Hegde, President of Udupi district Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Addressing a press conference at the district BJP office here on Wednesday, 16^th May, Mattar Rathnakar Hegde said that BJP made history by winning all five assembly seats of the district by huge margin by three assembly constituencies. It has possible by relentless efforts put by the workers under the guidance from National BJP president Amit Shah. We had confident that we will sweep all the five seats in the district.

He said that in the previous assembly election, we had only one seat in the district which Halady Srinivas Shetty now winner in Kundapur assembly constituency was contested as independent candidate. The former ministers and stalwarts of the Congress suffered huge defeat over the BJP in this election. As per the instructions and guidance from the national president Amit Shah and holding Fishermen convention, interaction with Shakti Kendra workers and social media people who present in Udupi for three days. The strategy of Amit Shah worked us to get winning the assembly seats, he said.

Mattar appreciated the support given by the Amith Shah and few leaders like Om Prakash Mathur and Mahendra Singh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited in the workers convention held at Udupi which have great contribution to the victory of the party, he said.

During the campaigning our issue was mainly the development. The people of the district voted in favour of BJP and we must succeed for the development of winning candidates constituencies, he said.

After massive win by the Congress during the previous election, BJP able to win most of the seats in Udupi district by the BJP in Zilla Panchayat, Grama Panchayat and APMC elections. We also won parliament election. Now BJP’s target to win two seats of legislative council graduate seats and Udupi City Municipal council. We hope in the Udupi CMC election winning atleast 30 councilors from BJP out of 35 councilors, he said.

Mattar further said that coming Lok Sabha election would be challenge to BJP. We started preparedness for all the coming elections including parliamentary election to be held on 2019.

Yashpal Suvarna, Suresh Nayak Kulaidy, Praveen Shetty Kappettu and others were present during the press conference.
