Hussainabba death case proves the collusion of Police and Vigilante groups - K. Paniraj, KKSV
Kemmannu News Network, 08-06-2018 06:23:42
Udupi : The assault and death of the cattle trader, Hussainabba at Shenarbetty near Perdoor on May 30 had clearly brought to light the collusion between the police and the activists of Sangh Parivar in twin districts, said K. Phaniraj, Vice President of the district unit of Karnataka Komu Sauhardha Vedike (KKSV).
Addressing media persons here on Thursday, 7th June at Udupi Press Club, K. Paniraj said that in relation to cattle trafficking, it is not new in coastal districts. Adi Udupi case, Krishnayya Patali death at Barkur, Praveen Poojary death etc cases were closed due to the police closeness with the Sangh parivar associations. Indeed, KKSV had been focusing on this issue for the last 18 years. In fact, this time Laxman Nimbargi Superintendent of district police has done excellent job with arresting the people who seriously indulged in the case, he said.
After the collusion between police and Sangh parivar people got exposed by the Perdoor incident. Shobha Karandlaje MP and other Bharatiya Janata Party leaders had started attacking the police and put pressure. They alleged that chief minister, H. D. Kumaraswamy was involved in the case. The purpose of these BJP leaders has very clear that to pressure the police and derail the investigation, Paniraj said.
K. Paniraj said that even though BJP elected leaders had taken an oath to protect the Constitution, they were questioning the rule of law. They were justifying assaults and murders of cattle transporters by stating that cattle theft was the main reason for it, it alleged.
K Paniraj said that KKSV did not deny incidents of cattle theft in the coastal districts. But this did not give the right to Bajarang Dal, VHP and other Sangh parivar groups to waylaid, assault and murder the cattle traffickers. These Sangh Parivar associations cannot take law into their own hands.
Paniraj appreciated the Laxman Nimbargi SP handling in the Perdoor case. But here before similar cases were held which washed out easily. Several cases were washed out due to destruction of evidence and police had not done anything to protect the constitution, he said.
He said that the government should find out the police who have a nexus with anti social elements and set right the police system. He argued that the Home Ministry should turn its attention here and do a constitutional surgery to the law and order machinery in the Coastal districts also.
G. Rajshekar President of KKSV, Udupi district said that there should be constitutional ruling needed in the coastal districts. He appreciated the service of district SP who worked honestly in arresting BD activists in the suspicious Hussainabba’s death case and SP’s stand in giving justice to the weaker section in this case. BJP MP and MLA’s are favouring the accused in this case and are working to protect their workers and are spreading false rumours in the society that CM has pressurized the district SP to arrest Hindu activists. The government should appoint an efficient public prosecutor to argue the case in the court which will the victims get justice, he said.
Yasheen Malpe, Fr. Willam Martis, Robert Menezes, Hussain Kodibengre, Cyril Mathias and other were present in the press meet.
