Kemmannu Road Work: Acquisition part completed except one Merchant.

Kemmannu, June 3, 2018: It is a while, since we updated about the progress of road widening work in Kemmannu. The news is that almost all building owners except a single cloth merchant have voluntarily given up their portion of the building or land hence the acquisition part is completed and drains work is in progress.

Due to elections in between the work was slowed down and again picked up lately. Most of the compound walls are almost completed. The total width of the road from Bridge to Convent end is 30 feet out of which 2 feet will go to the drain and rest 28 feet will be ready for use once completed. However, the total width is 32 feet from beginning to end of the Church compound wall.

However, the hiccup is that due to the approaching rainy season, it is doubtful if the asplating job will be completed this season. If not, it will be deferred and shall be completed once the rainy season is over.

Monsoon floods will bring in cat fish to reside in these gutters for dual purposes, including odor elimination.

One thing is not clear the drain works is done with proper survey or just excavate and construct. if the proper surveying is done to check the level for gravity flow of water the water from the restaurants/shops/residence flow in that drain get stagnant and fowl smell will start or chances of malaria epidemic.

I hope panchayath has done due consideration for proper gravity flow of water or else its duty of public to make sure the works is done with proper slope.

CONGRATULATIONS! to the kemmannites. The dream is coming true.

If we look back roads were narrow and pathetic. Today with the road widen we can peacefully walk.

I thank the concern who without them would be difficult for this project. I have seen Mrs. Veronica in the blazing sun was supervising Mr. Sadik and others- Mr Thomas special thanks for the coverage.

Let us learn to appreciate.

#Madhav Rao, True except the 2 Bars and Bhat’s shop, nothing much attracts Kemmannites anymore as Udupi/ Santhekatte is the next stop.

#Nelson thanks for the compliment. With whatsapp ruling the roost a positive comment by you is a tonic for me.
