Udupi : in cabinet meeting various important decisions taken including waive of farmers loans. I am sure that Congress will be one of the largest parties to win more than local bodies than any other party in the upcoming local elections, said Dinesh Gundu Rao, President, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee.

Addressing media persons after releasing the Congress manifesto for the Udupi Municipal Council at Congress Bhavan, Brahmagiri near here on Saturday, August 25, Dinesh Gundu Rao said that one of the largest inflow of capital to Karnataka state during Siddaramiah government, one of the large industries brought up in Karnataka, Industrial production also top in the country. Hence, Karnataka has seen tremendous developments in the country, he said.

The defeat in previous legislative assembly is quite different  that there were other reasons. But as far as developments in the state are concerned, we are far forward than any other states in the country. No one is saying that the past government has not done any development. Here in coastal districts also, we have done remarkable developments. Hence, people will vote for congress in the upcoming elections, he said.

To a query about the Siddaramiah’s comment on becoming the next chief minister, he said that he may have said during public meeting in reply to supporters’ wish to see him again as Chief Minister, BJP indulged with destabilizing the state government in several ways. But they do not succeed to break our combined government along with JD(S) party. The coalition government will govern the state for all five years, he said.

About the BJP’s politicizing the issue of Atal Vajpayee’s ashes immersion, Gundu Rao said, it is not fair and good to make politics while immersing Atal Vajpayee’s ashes. In fact, the deceased late prime minister is great leader. We should respect him lot, he said.

Answering a question from media persons, Dinesh Gundu Rao said that every state minister has the responsibilities who are representatives of the state. From the Central government is concerned, their minister’s should come earlier to rain effected Kodagu in Karnataka. They should not make any partiality in this issue. Sitharaman is the representative from the central government should declare the compensation to the Kodagu rain effected people. But, she not has done anything. Neither Prime Minister nor any other his party’s elected members to the area. We have sent two letters to the central government requesting for aid, he said.

He made serious allegations on Shobha Karandlaje MP is not seen in her own constituency. The cases like Paresh Mestha’s death were benefited in previous election for BJP. But we have handed over Parish Mestha’s case to CBI. As far as development of the state is concerned, she not has done anything for the state. Shobha Karandlaje’s record says that she never contest in single constituency during the election due to she may know that she will lost the election. Here also same case, she never contest for the election from Udupi Lok Sabha constituency, he said.
