Udupi : Drunkard persons harassments’ in various places of the district dominated in the SP direct Phone-in programme on Friday, 28^th September, 2018. SP Laxman Nimbargi received several phone calls in relate to the drunkard persons harassments’ to various places.

A caller from Kallianpur said that very early in the morning drunkard persons near to the local bar has make problems for the daily walkers on the Kallianpur road due to Wine bar open in the very early morning itself. Other caller from Mandarthi said only Bar at Ashwathakatte at Mandarthi due to harassments from the drunkard persons, lot of women fear to walk on the road. Another caller from Kundapur said due to severe problems from drunkard people here, there is no peaceful atmosphere and infighting, loud noise and other which problems for the people near to the bar here.

In reply to these complaints in relate to problems facing from drunkard persons in various places of the district, SP said strict measures will be taken on drunkard persons misbehavior with the people. In regard to these problems, we will contact the Excise department also.

There were two calls in relate to Sameer murder case. SP said that we are searching for Firdous who wife of slain who missing from Kaup which is our jurisdiction. He said Sameer (35) along with his wife and daughter had gone to Bengaluru for an interview by flight on September 13. Sameer had called his mother on September 15. The family members of Sameer got information that Firdous had returned to her native place from Bengaluru. When Sameer’s family contacted Firdous, then she said that Sameer was in relationship with another woman. Now since Firdous has been absconding, family members of Sameer requested to investigate Firdous missing case. SP said that being as per the complaint in Kaup Police station about the missing person, investigation going on. Sameer kidnap case filed in Bengaluru. He was murdered in Tamilnadu. All the procedures will be going on in all concerned police station with police link each other, SP said.

A caller complaint about the using of LED bulbs in four wheelers during driving which has been causes danger to two wheelers especially from Manipal to Ambagilu. SP ordered to police officials to take measures with special rides by the police.

There is illegal vehicles parking on Kalsanka – Krishna Mutt road, Brahmagiri near the circle which resulting problems for other people. SP said with the consulting with Udupi City Municipal Council the problem will be solved soon.

A caller from Malpe said that students studying in Government First Grade College, Tenkanidiyoor are not steady with learning nor they have interest to study. Students do not listen the parents. In order to better studying atmosphere, a caller requested to police to interfere for the betterment of the students.

A caller said that one dry tree at Yedthadi road near Brahmavar bended above the road which looks dangerous. She requested the SP to solve the problem of dry tree facing the road dangerously.

Another caller said that there is no place for the KSRTC buses due to long time parking by the private buses on the KSRTC bus stand at Udupi. SP said within two years permanent KSRTC bus stand to be opened at Bannanje.

A rickshaw driver said that even though he have permit to run in city limits, he found difficult to get recognized rickshaw stand in Udupi city. SP said it is better to contact with the auto rickshaw union.

After the police phone-in programme, SP said that since 3^rd August, there were 49 Matka cases were registered and 51 persons arrested. In relate to Gambling 13 cases registered and 90 persons arrested. Cases on COPTA 99, illegal alcohol supply 3, driving with alcohol consumption 69, against harsh horn 239, mobile using while driving 1,478, over speed driving 73 and other transport related 4,292 cases registered, SP Laxman Nimbargi said.
