Udupi : The district in-charge Minister, Dr. Jayamala inaugurated 10 bedded district AYUSH Hospital at the compound of district general hospital at Ajjarkad here on Wednesday, 21^st November, 2018.

AYUSH means Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy which the intention to provide best medical treatment with protection of healthy person. The AYUSH Hospital established at the cost of Rs. 1.40 crores in 50 cents land inside the district general hospital, Ajjarkad. The project completed with the Rs. 37.50 lacs from Union government and remaining Rs. 102.50 lacs out of Rs. 140 lacs from the state government.

The AYUSH Hospital will provide Panchakarma treatment; Homeopathy and Unani system outpatient treatment and medicines will be distributed.

Presently, the AYUSH Hospital only one doctor post filled and the doctors with staff will be available from district CSS and Panchakarma department of district hospital.

Meanwhile, the minister inaugurated the newly built district level mortuary in same compound of district Hospital, Ajjarkad. The district hospital new mortuary has been built at a cost of Rs. 80 lacs.

The Minister Dr Jayamala was also inaugurated the City Scanning Centre at the cost of Rs. 4 crore in the district hospital compound itself. The new CT scan centre is built under the private and public partnership.

Dr. Jayamala also participated in the ceremony of laying foundation for the new Eye hospital building in district hospital compound. The new hospital building will be constructed at the cost of Rs. One crore. The eye hospital building will be completed within 10 months.

The minister also inaugurated the Solid and Liquid Waste Management,  SLRM unit in district hospital  compound for disposal of heavy and liquid waste management system. The unit will be operated the solid and liquid waste from the government hospital in order to solve the problems of waste management. In this unit solid and liquid wastes generated from the hospital which can significantly helpful for the clean environment.

Speaking to media persons after the inauguration of several projects in District Hospital compound, Dr. Jayamala said that she would happy to inaugurate the various projects in the district. People should take advantage from these projects. The facility of Dialysis system in the district hospital has been also helpful for the poor patients in the district, she said.

The Rangayana and Rangamandir will be constructed in the district at the cost of Rs. 7 crore. The location for the said Rangamandir already examined at Adi Udupi in 1.37 cents of land. Shortly the project will be started, she said.

She appreciated the initiatives taken in district administration for the clean environment movement which would great successful. The initiative of clean environment movement is role model to the state. The city like Bengaluru can solve the problem of waste management like Udupi district. She gave gratitude to District Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis for the good initiative of waste management in the district.
