Udupi : The district police have sent a proposal to the deputy commissioner to expulsion from a district for 10 Matka bidders from the district.

Speaking to media persons, District Superintendent of Police Laxman Nimbargi during in his phone-in programme on Friday, November 23, he said earlier deputy commissioner had ordered to expulsion from the district to ten Matka bidders. Now once again ten more persons’ names submitted to the DC. She will look into the matter and pass an order to expulsion from the district very soon, SP said.

SP had received several calls in relate to take action on heavy stones carrier vehicles which disturb for large people and other problems like accidents, effecting the roads etc. One caller said that the stone carriers on the Padukere-Udyavara road are driving without care which problems for the people. SP said that he had already given informed the concerned departments regarding the problems faced by the people through moving heavy stone carriers on Padukere – Udyavara road. The action will be taken on drivers who neglecting proper traffic rules. Hence, SP was directed to the police to hold meeting with the concerned drivers soon.

One caller said that one person filed false case with miss using the ST/SC atrocities act and hence he get chance to terminate from his job. So the caller need proper investigation, so that his job would be saved.

A caller asks to take action on night time sand extraction illegally. Another caller said that some people throwing garbage bags from their vehicles at MGM – Chakratheertha road at Udupi.

One caller from Kundapur said that RTO receiving the application only from some agents; RTO not give importance to on – line application.

The SP had received total 21 calls on phone-in programme on Friday, November 23. From November 16, there was only one Matka case registered. Five persons arrested in one gambling case, 3 persons arrested in 2 DPS case, 20 arrested in COPTA, 21 cases registered for driving with alcohol consumption, 18 persons for using mobile while driving, 954 riding vehicle without Helmet, 1,411 cases in relate to other motor vehicle act were registered, SP said.
