Udupi : Udupi district Administration and Malpe Development Committee presents Malpe Beach Kite Festival on 31^st December, 2018 between 10 am to 12.30 am.

Speaking to media persons during the press meet at DC Office, Priyanka Mary Francis, Deputy Commissioner of the district on December 26, 2018, said that 30 Professional kite flyers will be coming for Malpe Kite festival which is one day event. FLY 360 Team will come with 30-40 different shapes and sizes of kites. Two types of kite flying will be done, Day Flying and LED Night flying.

She said that team will flying 3 Train kites i.e. Indian Flag Tri colour kites in one string. Other technical details will be 2-3 big round spinner kites, Tiger Shaped 3D kite, Teddy bear shaped 3D kite, 3D transformer, 3D Heart shape, Ladybug kite, 3D Rabbit kite, 3D Trilo bite kite, 3D Panda shape kite, 3D Ashoka chakra kite, 3D Frog kite, 3D 110 Feet long Snake kite, 3D Santa Claus, 3D Octopus kite, 3D Fish kite, 3D Dragon kite and Different design LED Kites and many more.

DC said that modern kite making workshop will be held where FLY 360 will teach the participants how to make a modern designer kite.

In total 100 participants can take the kite back with them once they have made it. A brief info on kites like history of kites, scientific use and appliances of kite etc,. A general info on kites will be conveyed to the participants. Kite professionals from FLY 360 team will give them a demo on how to make the kite from kite made available to them. After the demo students’ can start making the kite. Our professional will guide them during the process, she said.

Normally it takes a hour and half to make a kite. Again depends on the participants. A complete kit will be provided from FLY 360. Participants need not bring anything, she said.

She said that once kite making is done, students can fly the kites made by them. At the same time our team will be flying our huge designer kites. We can schedule modern kite making workshop between 11am to 12.30 pm and next batch after lunch from 3 pm to 4.30 pm, she said.

DC also said that professional flyers will start flying day flying kites from 10 am in the morning. There will be a break for lunch for an hour in the afternoon at around 1pm. After the lunch break flyers will continue to fly kites till 5.30 pm to 6pm. After sunset we start assembling our LED night flying kites and pull down our day flying kites. Our team will continue to fly LED night flying kites up till 8 pm depending on wind condition.

FLY 360 achievements :

1.       First prize in International festival :

Fly 360 has won many prizes in National and International kite competitions. One of the latest award won was received by PM of India Narendra Modi at Gujarat International Kite festival. Award won was for designing a miniature kite which was one and half inch which flew graciously. We have been honored with many such awards in our career.

2.       World Records :

We as a club/team have carried out many successful Modern Kite Making Workshops all over India for students of all ages, kids to adults. To which we were to the best of our abilities able to register a record in Limca Book of Records. This record was registered for successfully conducting modern kite making workshop fo 1017 participants in one sitting.

3.       Letter of Appreciation from Former President of India.

Pushpak Named Space shutte kite designed by Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. To which he humbly replied with a personally signed letter of appreciation. Till date it is one of the most prestigious honor that FLY360 holds.

4.       Featured in Talent Show:

It’s the passion of the president and the team members that FLY 360 has been successful in reaching numerous heights. Because of this passion and talent FLY360 was privileged to be Featured in famous talent show of its time Shahbassh India which was in all a very different experience. We also auditioned and shoot for another Talent show India’s got talent.

5.       Our kites are displayed in world kite museum’s:

Flying is our passion and we respect the creativity that we find in its different level. We have always been experimenting with the things that we can make it fly and see it up high in the sky. One such idea, an Artificial diamond studded Lord Krishna kite is been exhibited at World Kite Museum, Washington D.C. Another such kite of Lord Ganesh is been exhibited in World kite museum, Turkey.

Priyanka Mary Francis said that cultural progremme will be held between 5.30 pm to 12pm. The cultural programme will be from 5.30 pm to 6pm Pancha Vadiya, from 6pm to 6.30pm Koraga Dhol, from 6.30pm to 7.30pm Huli Vesha Band, from 7.30pm to 8.30pm Nasik Band, from 8.30pm to 9.30pm Nagare Band, from 9.30pm to 11pm Agni Troupe-African Fusion music and from 11pm to midnight Percussion Jamming(mixture of all band). Other attraction of Malpe Beach Kite festival will be food stalls, water sports and various games to be held, she said.
