Udupi : Milagres Cathedral Kallianpur of the Udupi diocese observed Vespers’ and eve of annual feast evening with Word of Lord on Tuesday, 22^nd January, 2019.

The Vespers’ evening began with evening prayers with Rosary of Mother Mary in the Cathedral which conducted by Veera D’Silva Headmistress of Milagres English Medium School at 6pm. Rev Fr. Paul Prakash D’Souza of Mangaluru Diocese and former Asst. parish priest of Milagres Church, Kallianpur blessed the Cheryl and followed by procession through the street of Kallianpur to Milagres Cathedral.

Followed by procession, the Vespers’ prayers began at 7 pm which the readings and other liturgy conducted by the Sunday School Catechism teachers.

In his homily Fr Paul Prakash pointed out the role of Our Lady of Mother Mary through her son Jesus and the importance and impact of Word of Lord. He said Word of God is complete, not giving back. The Word of God will increase our faith and complete our faith which supports us to increase services and will helps to unite in our neighbor and to help us in become better leader and makes us better Christian.

He pointed out the seven important thoughts in relate to Word of God. These are Light, Fire, Hammer, Seed, Knife, Drops of rain and mirror. 

After the homily, the Adoration of Blessed Sacrament held with much devotion and fervor by Fr Paul Prakash. Very Rev Fr. Lawrence C D’Souza Rector of the Cathedral and parish priest placed the brief announcements.

About half numbers of Diocesan total priests of the Udupi diocese including four deans of deaneries out of five deaneries and parishnors’ preists were present during the Vespers’ services of the Cathedral. One of the large crowd jam packed the Cathedral premises with other religious devotees of “Milar Matha” . Large number of devotees offered prayers and lighted candles for Our Lady of Miracles historical statue in front of the Cathedral.  Youth of parish organized various games in the special stall with Housie game which conducted by star singer Prajoth D’Sa.
