Dubai: Kalliapur Milagres College Old Students Felicitate Rtd. Prof. Hilda Rodrigues & Mary Mammen.

Dubai, Feb 17, 2019:On Saturday, Feb 16 2019, an event was organized by the Dubai based Old Students of Milagres College, Kallianpur to felicitate the hard work, efforts and service of two doyens of our college Prof. Hilda Rodrigues and Prof. Mary Mammen.

The event held at the India Sports Club in Oud Metha, Dubai with an overwhelming attendance of former students across all batches from the 1980’s to the late 2000’s. This event was conceptualized by Dr. Vincent Alva – Principal of Milagres College Kallianpur and was well organized by Mr. Alfred Crasto, Mr. Stephan Cornelio, Mr. Nagraj and Mr. Wilson D’sa who also compered the event well.

The event started with a welcome speech by Mr. Stephan Cornelio who welcomed our professors and all present. This succeeded by two back-to-back speeches by Hilda Ma’am and Mary Ma’am who were amazed by the unconditional love and affection bestowed upon them by the former students. While they regaled us with memories of the past, they also gave us some wonderful pieces of advice and nuggets of wisdom.

After this, it was followed by a fun filled  ice breaking event of playing a virtual Volleyball  to get to know name and year of everyone present,   game  won by Mr. Alfred Crasto and team. The second runners up were Prof. Hilda Rodrigues and her team, which gave quite a good competition! An array of snacks and drinks were available in abundance for all the attendees.

Dr. Vincent Alva took onto the stage to discuss about the plans that he has for Milagres in the coming future. He encouraged all alumni to meet at least once a year in the college campus itself and make efforts to carry the Milagrean brand forward. Mr. Nagraj, an esteemed alumnus also spoke of a cause that is close to his heart – an all-girls orphanage that he has established behind Milagres college campus.  The event ended with a scrumptious dinner and a photo session.

Overall, this very well organized event brought back not only just our Professors but also great memories that we will cherish for a lifetime.
