Udupi : The bid farewell function for four staff of Milagres English Medium School, Kallianpur held at Milagres Tri-centenary Hall here on Saturday, 23rd February, 2019. The felicitation staff were Eugene Rebello, Collin D’Souza and Cecilia Lewis Assistant teachers’ and Leena D’Souza non teaching staff.
The programme began with prayer dance by the students of the school. Very Rev Dr. Lawrence D’Souza, Secretary of Catholic Education Society, Correspondent of Milagres Educations Institutions and Rector of Milagres Cathedral inaugurated the programme with unveiling beautifully prepared quotes contained decorated with drawings placard.
Rev Fr. Lancy Fernandes sj, Principal of Milagres English School welcomed the gatherings. The students of V B std. displayed the beautiful dance of welcome. Very Rev Fr. Lawrence C D’Souza presided over the programme.
Two students of the school placed their sentiments on the retiring teachers’ and the non teaching staff. Folk dance was held by the High School students.
Present on the dais were Very Rev Fr. Lawrence C D’Souza, Dr. Nery Cornelio Vice President of Milagres parish pastoral council and Secretary Felciana Lewis, PTA presidents’, Rev Fr. Lancy Fernandes sj and Veera D’Silva Head mistress.
Mrs Mariet Rodrigues placed the sentiments on retiring her colleagues’ during the occasion. Eugene Rebello who served to the Milagres English School since 35 years, Collin D’Souza who served 34 years, Cecilia Lewis who served 30 years and Leena D’Souza who served 16 years service for the Milagres were felicitated by Very Rev Dr. Lawrence D’Souza along with personalities on the dais with shawl, garland, fresh fruits, memento and citation.
Earlier letter of appreciation was placed by Shanthi Fernandes for Cecilia Lewis, Renita Pais for Collin D’Souza, Irene Noronha for Eugene Rebello and Elsi Lewis for Leena D’Souza.
All four felicitated and retiring staff were placed their valuable sentiments on the esteemed institution with emotions and gratitude to all concerned.
Dr. Neri Cornelio on behalf of management wished the retiring staff for their endless service for the Milagres Institutions. Fr Lancy Fernandes said that the retiring staff’s humane approach endeared themselves to the students, management and the society.
Very Rev Fr. Lawrence D’Souza spoke his presiding address with sense of gratitude. He said that during the earlier days of school, there were no nonteaching staffs for help the teachers and the students. But the atmosphere changed now and there are certain helpers for them. Since more than three decades three teachers served the school wholeheartedly. After a long association with this great institution of Milagres since 3 decades as warranted by time, they will be away from the institution. We feel that these retiring staff was with us loved and cared and they will with us loved and cared and respected forever.
The students of VI B were displayed their beautiful nature dance and later the students sang wishing song to the retiring staff.
Veera D’Silva Headmistress placed the vote of thanks at the end. The programme winded up with school anthem by the students. The fellowship meal arranged to all the guests and others.
