Udupi : Shailesh Upadhyaya, aged 20 years chosen as the 32^nd successor of Palimar Math, one of the prestigious Asta Maths of Udupi, said Sri Vidyadeesha Theertha Swamiji.

Addressing a press meet at Sri Krishna Math here on Wednesday, March 27, Paryaya Swamiji said that Shailesh Upadhyaya son of Surendra Tantri and Laxmi Surendra Tantri from Kodavoor Kambalakatte near Malpe was studied primary education at Udupi Vidyodaya School and high school education at Sanskrit Vidyalaya and since three years he is studying Veda at Yoga Deepika Gurukula at base Math of Palimar at Palimar near Padubidri.

Sri Vidyadeesha Theertha Swamiji aged now 63 years said that Sahilesh Upadhyaya (20) will be his successor which first Swamiji of Palimar Math was Shri Hreshikesh Theertha Swamiji after started by Sri Madhwacharya.

Swamiji said Shailesh with his own accord and willingness agreed to become his successor. After through discussions with astrologers and Math scholers and getting permission family members, we are able to chose Shailesh.

Swamiji said that we have two Saubagya’s offered by God, one is Sri Krishna poojas and other increase the asset of knowledge. In order to save the tradition, we got one from our Vidyapeeta at Palimar. Sanyasa is not so easy to perform and need the mental spiritual balance throughout in his life. This chosen person able to deliver that, he said.

Sanyasa means on the one side sacrifice and other side accepting the responsibilities. The assessing the peeta, one should sacrifice everything and accept the responsibilities and sacrifice to God, he said.

Speaking to media persons Shailesh said that I had very much interest in spirituality right from my childhood. Later, my Guru has given me responsibilities with faith and trust. He has also given me a chance to offer prayers to Lord Krisha. I can do my best to serve my responsibilities with trust and faith. It is due to encouragement of Mukyaprana for accepting me as successor of Palimar Swamiji, he said.

On March 26, the family of Shailesh came to Palimar Math and told him about his willingness to be a successor and handed over him to Sri Krishna Sausthana. The rituals will be beginning from May 9. On May 10 Brahma Mohurtha and accepting Sanyasa. On May 11 Asta Mahamantras retreat, On May 12 Pattabhisheka .

Palimar Swamiji said that after the ceremonies, further studies would be held in Sri Krishna Math. Brother of Shailesh studying in Ayurvedic medicines. Father Surendra Upadhyaya is serving as Tantri of various religious places.
