Udupi : Most of the media are telecasting against me and especially highlighted my statement on the Mandya election and media highlighted only the clippings against me, said H. D. Kumaraswamy, Chief Minister of Karnataka.

Addressing a press meet at Congress Bhavan here on Sunday, April 7, CM Kumaraswamy said that once I spoke about a retired military officer had told me two years ago the Prime Minister would create a conflict ahead of the elections prior to the general elections. But media changed my words and made clippings against me and trying to make problems for me. The media as well as BJP leaders are not allowing me to run the government peacefully. Meanwhile media and BJP leaders since 9 months in the coalition government trying to insecure feelings in the minds of the people about the coalition government at the state, he said.

Once the coastal areas of the state was belongs to paddy cultivation. We should support to paddy farming in future in the coastal areas. Our party is working in favour of farmers and weaker section of the society. A fund of Rs 46 crore was sanctioned to the agricultural various departments. A part of the debt waiver of Rs. 6,500 crore announced in the budget has been directly credited to farmers’ account. Over 15 lakh farmers benefited in this. But, unfortunately, the election commissioner has stopped the transactions as the model code of conduct reasons. However, the election commission did not stop the functioning of central government schemes like Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. Against this dual policy of the Election Commission, the state government has been protested, he said.

Since coalition government established, there was no single incident of communal conflicts in coastal districts of Udupi, D. K. and U. K. There was no problem of law order situation in especially these coastal districts. Ever since NDA in power in centre, there are ample incidents of killing of innocents in the country, he said.

Demonetization brought in the country without consulting the cabinet of Union government. The inflation rate increased. The black money during the demonetization, BJP used to purchase our MLAs. Petrol, cooking gas and other prices skyrocketed in the country.

Answering a media query on Madegowda’s behavior, Kumaraswamy said that it is very common for party workers to ask money from their leaders during the elections time. He agreed to contribute to the election expenses. What is special in it? It is neither a big issue nor it is an offence. It is common in every political parties, he said.

To a query that after LS election, the state government falls, CM said that our government will complete five years in administration and we have hopes of winning majority seats of Lok Sabha in the state. But indeed it is only people’s verdict and we need to wait for it till May 23. When we win in the Lok Sabha election, it will be victory of our alliance with other parties, he said.
