Malpe: A FREE Adoption camp held for Rescue Puppies.

Malpe, May 2019: Indian Dental Association, Udupi branch with Madhwaraj Animal Care Trust conducted a unique and meaningful program for the welfare of stray dogs on May 5th 2019 at Malpe beach .

Awareness , understanding and a change of heart is what was the purpose through their Campaign + Action for stray dogs - Namma Swantha Namma Hemme , other than various other initiatives and programs.

A FREE ADOPTION CAMP FOR RESCUE PUPPIES was conducted for  14  loving , beautiful, dewormed and fully vaccinated puppies that have been fostered at their  shelter “Precious Paws “ . MACT, Malpe.

With neutering of the dogs done free of cost .

12 pet parents came forward to give these puppies a family and a safe home . With this the number of adoptions  facilitated by MACT is 221 in the last 10 months .

“HAKKU “ A STREET PLAY

Was performed 3 times and was received extremely well by the public .  Many said that this brought tears to their eyes and a new understanding of the struggle of our strays from birth to death on the streets .

It was A touching and meaningful play dedicated to the lives of our fellow beings on the street . Directed by Shri Suresh Navur and enacted by volunteers of Angels for strays group , students of Yakshagana Kendra , Udupi and other animal lovers . The acting skills of Ramanjee of Rangabhoomi as the mother dog was praised by all .

Dr Manoj Maxim , President of IDA welcomed the audience and stressed on making our society conflict free by taking responsibility for making the lives of the stray dogs happier and healthier and strive to co exist peacefully and lovingly with them

Babita Madhwaraj, founder trustee, MACT Malpe said the campaign plus action for stray dogs Namma Swantha Namma Hemme will see Udupi as the first city in the country to have an all inclusive community and will be the model city for India to follow . She also said that this is only possible in Udupi as we have a huge number of compassionate and kind people who are very empathetic and definitely ready to support the cause of our stray animals and be their voice and defenders

The public were appreciative of the initiative taken and all the programs organised periodically and said we need more projects like this.
