Udupi : Former Prime Minister H D Devegowda served better for the country as a prime minister of the country, said Pejawar Seer Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji.
On the occasion of his celebration of birthday as per the Hindu calendar of the Pejawar Swamiji, former Prime Minister Devegowda visited Pejawar Seer at Sri Govinda Kalyan Matap, Kinnimulki here on Tuesday, May 14, Pejawar Swamiji told to Devegowda that you have done excellent job as a prime minister. If you would have continued as prime minister, the problem of Jammu and Kasmir had solved. The character of village farmer still existed with Devegowda. Let, Sri Krishna bless you, said Pejawar seer.
He said during in his prime minister time, Devegowda was sanctioned one acre of land for Pejawar Math at New Delhi. We built in that place Sri Krishna Mandir and Math.
Pejawar Seer was felicitated both Devegowda and his wife Chennamma and blessed the couple. Meanwhile, Devegowda also felicitated Pejawar Swamiji with shawl, garland and fresh fruits.
Later, Devegowada said to media persons that he visited to Pejawar Swamiji Sri Vishweshatheertha on his celebration of 88th birthday as per Hindu calendar. I was visited swamiji to get blessings from him. Devegowda neglected to speak on politics during the occasion with the media persons.
Karnatala legislative council member S L Bojegowda, JDS district president Yogish Shetty, JDS leaders Shalini Shetty Kenchanoor and others, Pejawar Math Divana Raghuram Acharya, Dr. Tanmaya Goswami, medical doctor, Vishumurthy Acharya and other were present.
