An app to be released to deal with complaints during Monsoon in Udupi city

Print Udupi : The district administration would be release an app, Udupi Help to deal with the monsoon related problems in the Udupi city, said Hephsiba Rani Korlapati, Deputy Commissioner of Udupi District.
Speaking with media persons here on Saturday, May 25, Korlapati said that the said app was being developed on the lines of the C-Vigil app of the Election Commission of India. It will help people to interact with the staff of the Udupi City Municipality.
They will be able to submit complaints of flooding or fallen trees on the app which will be made available on Google Play store in a week or 10 days. The app will be launched as a pilot project and is limited to Udupi city.
She said that the responding departments will include City Municipal Council, MESCOM, water department and department of Forests. Residents can upload photos and videos through app.
Whatever problems can be resolve immediately or within six hours. The demonstration of app is going on. Its beta version is being tested, she said.
In relate to work of the app would work, she said that once a tree falls somewhere, its photo can be uploading through the app. Meanwhile, after the problems solved, the concerned department also can upload the photos of cleared problems.
To a query on why the app service cannot be extended to the entire district, she said that it was a trial app and there was limited time to develop it. Udupi is the dense city in our district and we have taken it up as a pilot project in Udupi city limit this year, she said.
