A true leader is the one who knows and owns the duties and responsibilities "a person who leads a group of people towards the achievement of a goal”. Leaders help themselves and others to do the right things. They set direction, build an inspiring vision, and create something new. Leadership is about mapping out where we need to go to "win" as a team or an organization; and it is dynamic, exciting, and inspiring.Yet, while leaders set the direction, they must also use management skills to guide their people to the right destination, in a smooth and efficient way.

On 6^th June 2019, The Nirmala English Medium School, Brahmavar held the School parliament to elect students representative as SPL (School Pupil Leader) and ASPL(Asst. School Pupil Leader). While the voting at the Nirmala School was for students from classes 6^th to 10^th . Three students of Class X contested for SPL and three students of Class IX for ASPL’s post. Elections this time was held at the School Auditorium at 2:30 pm.

Miss Kavitha welcomed the gathering and given instructions to the students. The Scouts and Guides were scrutinising for the voting tables with Ballot papers and ink. Our  Principal Rev. Fr. Joslie D’Silva OFM Cap, called the students to vote the right candidate (leader of the school) saying, ” Leader is the one who knows the way, shows the way and goes the way”.

Being the first exposure to voting system, students of class six were given instructions of the whole process starting from marking of “ink” on the right forefinger to the way of casting their votes. Contestants, who were from classes X and IX introduced themselves and if they were chosen, promised to render the services to the school loyally. The School’s auditorium turned into a polling booth where 5 voting tables were placed on either side to enable faster voting. It started at 2.30 p.m. and ended at 4.00p.m.

When all the votes were counted, Sugam G. Nayak of Class X was declared the winner as SPL and Sinchan of Class IX as ASPL. We appreciate all the students who contested in School parliament election and Congratulations to all the winners.
