Udupi : There are various problems to get the pension scheme benefits especially disabled persons getting pension late. Need to solve the problems in relate to various pension schemes to the people as soon as possible said Raghupathy Bhat, local MLA.

Speaking during Udupi Taluk Panchayat meeting at held here on Friday, June 14, Raghupathy Bhat in response to the complaint by Dr. Suneetha Shetty,  taluk panchayat member said that the handicapped persons not able to receive the pension. Hence, their pension was stopped. In reply to Tahisildhar said that the list of discarded pensioners will be once again checked. Nalini Pradeep Rao President of Udupi Taluk Panchayat said that those who are not able to receive, there should need to make system to handover pension amount directly.

Raghupathy Bhat said that  every day he has received regarding not getting pension since two  months. Bhat directed the pension schemes official to take measure to solve the said problems immediately.

Raghupathy Bhat was upset with concerned officials not attending during the meeting which has very important to solve the problems of the people. In relate to the question by taluk panchayat member Umesh Shetty on salt water problems due to chinky dams at Nagarmatt, Barkur and other two places. The concerned department official was absent for the meeting. Raghupathy Bhat said that action will be taken to the officials who failed to attend the meeting regularly.

Dr Suneetha taluk panchayat member said that no work has been taken on Ganga Kalyana Scheme for the people and asked to implement the scheme at the earliest. In response to official said that due to expansion of roads, the said scheme not able to implement. As soon as work getting closer, the scheme will be introduced.

Majoor Gram Panchayat President alleged that even though under government report due to Padur Pipe line several damages had occurred, but private contractor given private report that no damages had occurred during the pipe line works. In response to, Kaup Tasildhar said that discussion under way in regard to the damages on pipe line project and give information regarding this to the district commissioner.

Geeta Wagle said that in order to get the bus pass for handicapped, need to go Mangaluru. The people need to get bus passes in Udupi itself. Nalini Pradeep Rao said she will inform the concerned department to solve the bus pass problem.

Laxminarayana Prabhu complained that the records and maps of land concerned in Kudi grama not getting which in 1996 the right certificate was given at Kudi grama. Tasildhar said that said records and map not available in grama panchayat that file is missing. In response to Raghupathy Bhat said that confirm the missing file and reintroduce the file. MLA asked to conduct the meeting of PDO and concerned people and solve the problem.

During the occasion retired taluk panchayat official since 41 years of glorious service, Harikrishna Shivathyaya was felicitated by Raghupathy Bhat MLA. After the felicitation, Harikrishna Shivathyaya placed some of his views on his long service for the people and the government. He gave gratitude to all concerned for his appointment and during service period.

Raghupathy Bhat appreciated Harikrishna’s work for the department. He was one of the confidential hardworking person during his tenure. He was the master to solve the various problems of the people since several decades. He has retired from government service, but he never retired for good works for the people, Bhat said.

Nalini Pradeep Rao presided the meeting. Vice President Rajendra, Standing committee member Bhujanga Shetty, Udupi, Brhamavar and Kaup Tahsildhars’ and Taluk Panchayat working official Raju were present during the meeting.
