Udupi : Karnataka Komu Sauhardha Vedike, Udupi district Muslim Okkoota, CITU Udupi district, Dalit Damanithara Swabhimani Samiti, Udupi district, International Christian Associations Okkoota, Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh,  Bahujan Kranthi Morcha and other associations organized procession and protest meet against the group lynching, anti nationals, anti constitution, anti minorities etc., on Friday, July 12.

The protest procession began from Board School, near Service bus station to Hutatma Chowk at Ajjarkad. Addressing to protesters, social activist and secretary of Karnataka Komu Sauhardha Vedike Prof.  Paniraj said that the group lynching started at Adi Udupi on 2004. Presently group lynching on Muslims, Dalits and minorities increased in the country. Some powerful persons trying to uproot the Indian constitution and it is the great tragedy.

He said mob lynching incidents are happening frequently. Many innocent including a police officer and a mentally challenged woman were killed in these incidents. The main reason for mob lynching incidents is the lack of fear about consequences. Everyone in the group who commit the crime thinks that they can get away with the crime. Ineffective investigation by police officials and the ineffective justice system are the reason for this lack of fear, he said.

There are various reasons for mob lynching and governments also supporting the same. Most of the mob lynching are due to cow vigilatism. Several ministers publicly supported mob lynching over the suspicion of eating beef. Since three years the mob lynching crimes frequently happening that the concerned governments not taking strict action on mob lynching crimes, he said.

Some ministers giving hate speeches on minorities and lead to mob lynching. There is no trust in the police system which influencing person to take law into their own hands, he said.

Idrees Hoode said that since 2015 in various places of the country lynching, atrocities on minorities, killing and other crimes taking place. All incidents the reason behind the crimes are caste, religion and other simple matters. These people breaking the laws of the constitution and directly indulged in terrorism with the minorities, dalits and other low caste people.

Yogish Shetty President of district JD(S), Vishwanath Rai of CITU and various leaders of different associations were spoke during the protest meet.
