Udupi : As part of Commemoration of 40 years of Milagres English Medium Educational Institutions at Kallianpur, this year several programmes have been planned for for students, parents and Alumni. One such programme was the Sports Day for Parents held on August 15^th near here at MIlagres Primary school ground. It was organised by Management and Staff in collaboration with the Parent Teacher’s Association (PTA).

The Sports Meet for parents began with the prayer song led by the staff members. It was followed by welcome speech by Headmaster Rev Fr Lancy Fernandes SJ. A colourful March Past by parents and PTA added beauty to the day.

Mr Owin Rodrigues, member of the Managing Committee of the school was the chief guest. He inaugurated the Sports Meet by planting and unveiling the school flag and taking the guard of honour. In his speech he said that parents too need to take time out to relax. Their children would be happy to see them excel in sports events even at this age. Mr Michael & Mr Jayeesh Kamath, PTA Presidents, Mrs Swati & Mrs Rekha Shetty, PTA Vice Presidents were present on the stage.

All parents were divided in to three teams – Santhekatte Rockers, Kallianpur Warriors & Nejar Panthers. About 300 parents took part in the events. Winners were awarded attractive certificates and mementos by the school. Snacks and soft drinks were arranged by the PTA  members.

The sports Day ended with games like Blind Throw ball, Tug of War and breaking the pot events. Mr Prashanth, staff of High school compered the event. Mrs VeeraD’Silva, Headmistress proposed the vote of thanks.

Mr Steevan, Mr Vincent & Mr Vinay, PE teachers of the school organised and planned the event. Other staff members too co-operated for the success.
