Print ICYM Catholic Action League, Bendur holds CAL CUP 2019
ICYM Catholic Action League, Bendur held CAL CUP 2019, an inter parish football tournament at City Arena, Mangalore on Sunday, 18th August 2019. 20 parishes participated in the tournament. Mr. John Errol Samuel was the patron for the event.
The inauguration ceremony was held at 8:30 am. Rev. Fr Vincent Monteiro - Parish Priest, St. Sebastian Church, Bendur presided over the programme along with Chief guest Mr. J.R.Lobo – Former MLA, Mangalore South Constituency, Mr. Austin Peris - Guest of honour, Mrs. Mavis Rodrigues – Secretary, Bendur Parish Pastoral Council, Mr. Sujith Noronha - Animator, Stephen
Veigas – President, Dheeraj Lobo – Convener, CAL Bendur unit were the other dignitaries of the event.
Dheeraj Lobo welcomed the guests and the gathering. Rev.Fr Vincent Monteiro and Mr. J.R.Lobo inaugurated the tournament by unveiling the trophies of CAL CUP 2019 and addressed the gathering by encouraging the youth to develop their personality and be united as one family.
Stephen Veigas – President, CAL Bendur unit proposed the vote of thanks. Nihal Rego compered the inaugural ceremony. Mr. John and Mr. Tanvir officiated the matches. Cordel unit bagged the CAL CUP 2019 while Bendur unit bagged the runners up trophy. The closing ceremony and handing over the trophies was presided over by Rev. Fr Vincent Monteiro and Mr. Austin Peris representing Mr. John Errol Samuel. Ranson Crasta proposed the vote of thanks and Neema Fernandes compered the concluding ceremony.
