Ravi Katapady raising funds for the poor patients by putting costumes on Krishnashtami

Udupi : Ravi Katapady have been raising funds during the every Krishna Janmastami festival for the needed poor people. This year Ravi Katapady will put on the costume of a vampire.
Addressing a media persons at Udupi Press Club, Ravi Katapadi said that this year the funds raised would be used for helping Srithan, three year old son of Kushal and Usha from Mandari near here, Pratham, five year old son of Ravindra and Yashodha from Varkady and 18 year old Kiran, son of Krishnamurthy and Kushal Acharya from Hiriyadka.
Every year Ravi Katapady raises funds for the poor patients who not afford to put medical expenses in particular. Every year he had been donning different costumes performances with his team called Ravi and Friends, Katapady during the Krishna Jayanthi which is also called Krishna Asthami since the last five years.
Ravi Katapady and Friends raised Rs 1.04lakh during the first year, Rs. 3.2lakh during the second year, Rs. 4.65 lakh during the third year, Rs 5.12lakh during the fourth year and Rs 5.32lakh during last year. All the raised money was given to the parents of poor children for their medical treatment.
Meanwhile, Ravi Katapady said that the costume of vampire was expected to cost between Rs 20000. This year he has thinking that not more money will be spent for the costume. Previous year he spends around Rs. 1.2lkh on costumes. He did not want to spend more money this time on costumes cost.
He said that the funds collected during this year Janmashtami would be distributed to the parents of patients at a public function at Katapady on September 3. Sri Kshavittaldas Swamiji of Kemar Mutt and Nisha James Superintendent of Police, Udupi district will be the guests.
