Udupi : District Bharatiya Janata Party organized felicitation programme for newly appointed state BJP President Nalin Kumar Kateel, Member of Parliament from Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha Constituency at Sheshashayana Hall, Kidiyoor Hotel here on Tuesday, September 10, 2019.

Earlier Nalin Kumar Kateel was warmly welcomed at Hejamady, near Mulki and Padubidri by Kota Srinivas Poojary Minister for Fisheries, Ports and Muzarahi, Raghupathy Bhat MLA, Lalaji Mendon MLA, Sunil Kumar MLA, Mattar Rathnakar Hegde district BJP president, Dinakar Babu ZP President, Kuthyar Naveen Shetty, Gurme Suresh Shetty and other district leaders.

He was taken in open goods carrier vehicle from Jadukatte near Big Bazar here in procession to Kidiyoor Hotel for felicitation programme. During on the way to Udupi in the car, Nalin Kumar Kateel not used seat belt which he travelled front side of the car has viral in social media. Police not fined the MP for violation of new vehicles act. Large number of BJP officials and workers gathered at Judukatte and proceeded towards the Kidiyoor Hotel near Service Bus stand along with BJP President Mattar Rathnakar Hegde, Raghupathy Bhat, Kota Srinivas Poojary, Dinakar Babu and other leaders.

Nalin Kumar Kateel was felicitated with Yakshanagana head cover, garland, basket of fresh fruits and other by Kota Srinivas Poojary and other leaders on the dais.

Nalin Kumar Kateel after felicitation said that more than coming to power, the aim of BJP was to bring about a change in the country and extend the thinking, principles and ideology of the Sangh Parivar which wanted to build the country of Swami Vivekanand’s dreams.

Kateel said that BJP had fulfilled the dream of the founder of Bharatiya Janasangh, Syama Prasad Mukerjee that there should be single flag, single prime minister and single constitution by abrogating Article 370 with regard to Jammu and Kashmir.

Without naming Congress party, Kateel said that BJP was a democratic party which had Venkaiah Naidu, Nithin Gadkari, Rajnath Singh and Amir Shah as sits presidents. I have grown from a booth level common worker of the party to state BJP president. I have faced several challenges during my tenure as MP. Today the honour bestowed on me by the party has increased obviously my responsibilities as a president. I have accepted the position as BJP state president after putting a lot of thought. Assembly election will come in three years and there should need to work very hard and BJP will get 150 seats without any doubt.

He said I will work for the development of the state and the nation. It is only BJP that a worker who pasted the party’s posters could become the president of the state unit and a worker who sold tea could become the Prime Minister of the country, he said.

 Earlier, Kota Srinivas Poojary inaugurated the programme with lighting the lamp. In his inaugural address, Kota Srinivas Poojary said that Nalin was a common party worker. He was brought up in Sangha Parivar. BJP gives lot of opportunities to its workers to prove themselves which is example of Nalin Kumar. He brought up in working with the people and he shown ability for the development of the people as well. Hence, BJP recognized Kateel and now become state BJP president.

Lalaji Mendon, Raghupathy Bhat and Sunil Kumar spoke during the programme. Earlier Kuthyar Naveen Shetty welcomed the gathering. Mattar Rathnakar Hegde BJP district president delivered key note address. Kulaidy Suresh Nayak compered and proposed vote of thanks.

Dinakar Babu ZP president, Sheela K Shetty Vice president of ZP, Uday Kumar Shetty, Mangaluru division in-charge, Thingale Vikramargun Hegde former district president, Taluk panchayat presidents and other leaders were present on the dais.
