Udupi : The famous Onam festival celebrating by the Kerala people has specialty with uniting all caste, creed, religions and other which we cannot see in other states. This Onam festival has the power to unite the people at large, said Kota Srinivas Poojary, Minister of Fisheries, Ports and Muzarai, State of Karnataka government.

The Onam festival celebration was organized by Kerala Cultural and Social Center Udupi along with Lions’ Club International. at Narayana Guru Hall, Bannenje near here, Kota Srinivas Poojary said in his inaugural address that Kerala citizens are very literate and even women also literate compared to other states of the country.

Tulu artist Aravind Bolar, Nithyananda Olakad Dr. Joseph, Vishu Shetty were felicitated during the occasion. Meanwhile cash prizes were distributed to children of center members.

Lions Club International District 317 Governor Ln V. G. Shetty, Prof. Dr. M. N. Valiyathan, K V Kumar Secretary of the Kerala Cultural and Social Centre, Treasurer Prasanna Kumar and others were present on the dais.

Kerala Cultural and Social Centre President P A Mohandas welcomed the gatherings and spoke keynote address. Bindu Tangappan compered the programme.
