Udupi: Ayushmann India Health Karnataka is one of the first projects in India to be implemented in a country like ours. Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje promised to fix the obstacles in the scheme and ensure that everyone is benefited in the coming days.

She was speaking at the inauguration of the Ayushmann India Health Karnataka Partial Celebration Program held at IMA Bhavan in Brahmagiri on Monday, September 30, under the auspices of the District Administration, Zilla Panchayat and District Health and Family Welfare Department.

Shobha Karandlaje said that scheme has been implemented to provide quality medical care to the economically disadvantaged for free. The obstacles in the scheme would be soon redirected to the benefit of the central and state government for the benefit of the public. The MP said that the students should promote the project more and more and try to make it more accessible to everyone.

Zilla panchayat president Dinakar Babu said the public was confused about the scheme. He said local people’s representatives would be better informed and vigilant to resolve such disturbances.

Sheela K Shetty, Vice President, Zilla  Panchayat, who released the program brochure, said, "It is our duty to build healthy citizens in the society. We have the responsibility of building a vibrant country with a healthy India of 70% youth. The Ayushmann India Health Karnataka Scheme would be beneficial in this regard, so all should join hands with the efforts of doctors to reduce the number of patients in society.

District Surgeon Dr Madhusudan Nayak said that there are some obstacles in the government’s ambitious plan to provide free and effective treatment to the poor. He said that as soon as the revision package is released by the central government, the disadvantage will be overcome and the benefits of the project will be reaped.

District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr. Ashok said that people should be aware of cleanliness in the district. A unique model workshop called ’One Health Approach’ will be held in collaboration with the Health Department, Gram Panchayat PDOs, Veterinary Surgeons and Forests Department to raise public awareness on infectious diseases. Due to the efforts of the Health Department, Udupi district will soon be recognized by the WHO as a "Filaria Free District".

Zilla Panchayat Member Geethanjali Suvarna, Kapu Taluk Panchayat President Naveenchandra, Alevoor Grama Panchayat President Srikanth Nayak, District Family Welfare Officer Ramram, RCH Officer MG Rama, Dr Prashant Bhat, Taluk Health Officer Nagarathna, Ayushmann Bharat Coordinator Jaganath, Nursing College Students and others were present.

Ayushmann India Board of Health Karnataka Awareness Program was conducted by the Jatha procession  program from the Board United Government PU College to District Government Hospital, Ajjardkad.
