Udupi: District magistrate and deputy commissioner G Jagdeesh has said that the maritime mock operations will be held from November 6 to7 on the point of view of security and to ensure self-assessment of the current measures to be taken to prevent terrorist attacks in the district.

He was speaking at a meeting on Tuesday in the Rajathadri, District Collector’s Office on the preparations for the Preparatory Operation of the Maritime mock drilling.

Its main purpose is to improve the defense capability and to enhance harmony between different departments and agencies and to enhance the existing capability of conducting marine surveillance.

During this mock operation, major inspection tours of the district, beaches, temple, bus station and railway station and major commercial complex, government buildings and industries will be conducted. The public will cooperate with the district administration and find any unknown persons or objects in these places and inform the Police Control room 112, Coast Guard Control Room 1093, District Control Room as well as information on persons or objects that have found no cause unknown

The DC, which has hired nodal officers to oversee the district’s major malls, bus stops, railway stations, educational institutions, healthcare institutions, temples, ports and industries, suggested that all departments cooperate with each other during mock operations.

DC Jagdish said the operation has mock operation surveillance and the public should cooperate with the district administration without any disturbance. In this case, the police department will inspect the public and vehicles, and in this case the public can cooperate and there is no apprehension of any suspicious persons and suspicious objects with unknown identity.

During the operation, police will open the police check post and the police department will be checking a wide range of vehicles, in this case the public to cooperate and go fishing in the sea, and the necessary documents retain their identity card as well as the sea and the boats of unknown persons. If unidentified boats found on the sea, immediately inform the police, said Nisha James, Superintendent of Police.

Additional District Collector Sadashiva Prabhu, Coast Guard officials and other department officials were present during the meeting.
