Udupi : With an aim to recharge and revitalise individual capacity of students and to motivate and empower them towards better concentration and output in academics,Milagres English Medium School Kallianpur in collaboration with ‘Inner Voice’ Pune organised a Two Day Workshop called SUPER STUDENT. Mrs Vinaya Malvankar, a Transformation Trainer and Mind Power Trainer, with 30 years of experience of conducting training programmes for students, parents and educators was the resource person.

The workshop was spaced out well over two days from Nov 15 to Nov 16 in the school hall. It was held from 9 am in the morning till 3.45 pm.

On the first day, it began at 9.15 am with the powerful prayer song – ‘Doors opening, doors closing…’ inviting the students to shun bad habits and negativity and embrace positivity, freshness and new habits. Mrs Vinaya stressed on the need to speak to one’s subconscious mind. She elaborated on the presence of a ‘genie’ in each person that listens to the command of the master.

Several exercises were part of the workshop wherein students were taught to speak to their subconscious mind and activate their potentials.She elaborately explained how our thoughts, words, feelings and images affect the working of the mind.

The second day dealt with the seven steps to success, goal setting, visualisation and affirmation techniques attain one’s vision &goals.

The high point of the workshop cherished most by the students was special Meditation exercises to help students to be in touch with the ‘alpha state’ of the mind. It is the Alpha state helps to programme the mind to attain what one wishes.

On the whole it was a mind activating and self-motivating workshop that helped students to ‘look within’ so as to identify and channelize their potentials for better output. People usually don’t feel safe to be at home within oneself, ones abilities and shortcomings. It dealt with tools to bring about positive change in personal life and society.

Mrs Vinaya emphasised that the quality of life depends on the choices one makes. The workshop ended with four students expressing their sentiments and take awaysof the workshop. Every student who participated was given a certificate. About 190 students of Class IX and X reaped the benefit of this workshop.

This workshop was organised by Management of Milagres School as part special programmes of Ruby Jubilee Year Celebrations of the school with the focus on student empowerment.
