Print Retd PD Augustine Dias of Milagres College, Kallianpur to be felicitated on Dec 21
Udupi, Nov 29: Augustine Dias is a name which cannot be disconnected with sports activities at Milagres College, Kallinapur. He worked as a Physical Director for over three decades and is instrumental in preparing the finest players, athletes, body-builders, weight-lifters and power-lifters. Some of such players has brought laurels to the college by participating and winning medals in the international level. The sports-loving students still remember him as a stalwart in his area. The college too remembers his service throughout.
As a mark of honour, the alumni sports-persons of Milagres College, Kallianpur, have decided to felicitate Augustine on December 21 at 6 pm in the college quadrangle. Correspondent Fr Dr Lawrence C D’Souza will preside over the ceremony and Jayaprakash Shetty, alumnus and chairman and MD of Shambuji Group, Mumbai, will be the chief guest. Sports alumni from all over the globe will participate in this gala event.
On the same day Milagres Premier League Volleyball tournament has been organised in the college ground at 9.30 am. Six teams will clash for the title. The teams have already been owned by six franchise. Superintendent of police of Udupi district Nisha James will inaugurate the event.
