Annual Day Celebrations held at Milagres English Medium School Kallianpur

Kallianpur : Milagres English Medium School Kallianpur which is treading the Ruby Jubilee Year held its Annual Day Celebrations at Milagres Tri-Centenary Hall near here in an lively manner on Nov 27, 28 & 29.
It all began with the flag hoisting and mass drill followed by inauguration of the renovated basketball court of the school on Nov 27th morning with Mr Johan Chris Lewis, Alumni, Poet and entrepreneur as the chief guest and Mr TilakKini as guest of honour. Rev Fr Canute Noronha, Asst Parish Priest of Milagres Cathedral presided over the function.
The High School section held its Annual day on Nov 27 evening @ 2.30 pm with Sr. PreetiCrasta A.C, Principal of St Cecily’s Girls High School as Chief Guest. Dr Neri Cornelio, Member of the School Managing Committee presided over the function. Endowement prizes were distributed by the chief guest. Students who excelled in sports at State level were honoured. Special achievers were felicitated along with top scorers of SSLC. Ms Aaniya and Ms Misha both from 10thstd received the award for the most talented students of the year. Ms Lavanya from 9thstd received special honours for her splendid accomplishment of 21 awards in drawings competitions in 6 months in cultural category.
The Primary section held its Annual day on Nov 28 evening @ 2.20 pm with Rev Fr Johnson Sequiera, Principal of St Mary’s CBSE School Kannarpady as Chief Guest. Mrs SambrataShetty, Alumni of the school was the guest of honour. Mrs Felciana Lewis, Member of the School Managing Committee presided over the function. Proficiency prizes and endowment awards were distributed by the chief guest. State level achievers were honoured.
Major themes of the cultural programmes included Laser dance, acrobatics, Robotic dance, Salutation to Mahatma Gandhi, Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, Story of a Tree (Kannada Skit), Mime (Save Water Save Life), Theme (150th Birth anniversary special), English Skit (Virtual World& Kids) based on the theme of the academic year,” Kannada Skit (Mother Earth – BhuTaayi) related to farmer issues and so on. Dances, classical singingtableaus and classical dance followed by musical piece and songs enthralled the jam packed hall.
Every bit beginning from the formal programme till the School anthem was compered by the students themselves.
Rev FrLancyFernandes SJ, Principal of the school, presented the Annual report with record of events and activities, achievements and facilities. Mrs VeeraD’Silva, Headmistress, Mr Michael Mendonsa and Mr JayeeshKamath, PTA Presidents of Primary and High School, Mrs RekhsShetty and Mrs Swati NayakPTA Vice Presidents of Primary and High School were present. Mr Owin Rodrigues, member of Managing Committee graced the occasion. School pupil leaders Master Narain and Ms Janice Furtado of Primary and Master Nashath and Ms Raksha of High School were present on the dais.
Ms Ayesha Shazin, Ms Tanisha, Ms Raksha and Ms Mariam Zuni compered the programme. . Every item of the cultural programme revolved around the theme of the academic year – “Accompanying Young Minds towards hope filled future in a Globalised world.”
