Udupi: - District Collector G. Jagadeesh said that the government will take tough action against unauthorized and illegal TV channels in the district. Jagdeesh warns.
He chaired the District Level Management Committee meeting of the Cable Television Network Act, which was held at the District Office on Tuesday, December 10.
Indian Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRAI) feet channels need to be registered. Recently, however, there have been complaints from the public about some of the fake channels that are blackmailing the public, including government offices, in the name of TV channels. In this regard, the existing local channels will be checked and the duplicate channels detected and processed. He instructed the news department to review and report on this.
Registration of Cable Operators Compulsory: All cable operators in the district must be registered with the Regular Post Office. This will be verified by the postal department. Unregistered cable operators must immediately discontinue their business. Otherwise, such entities will be attacked and confiscated by the associated cable equipment. For this purpose, a complaint cell has been opened at the district level and the public can give a written note to the district news office. Complaints can also be made via email. DC said the vouchers should be paid for the monthly fee received from the customers.
The public can complain if any of the programs aired on TV cause disturbances in the society or enmity among any community.
