Udupi : Kallianpur Area Council of St. Vincent de Paul Society celebrated the feast of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception at Sacred Heart Church, Kolalgiri on Sunday, December 8, 2019.

The Eucharistic mass celebration celebrated by Rev Fr. Dr. Anil Prakash Castelino, parish priest of Sacred Heart Church Kolalgiri.

In his homily Fr Anil Prakash said that the church will celebrate the Feast of Immaculate Conception on Monday, December 9 rather than on December 8^th since the 8^th was the second Sunday of Advent. The universe rejoices with new and indefinable loveliness. Not only does it feel the unseen presence of God himself, its creator, it sees him openly, working and making it holy. These great blessings spring from the blessed fruit of Mary’s womb.

God is the Father of the created world and Mary the mother of the re-created world. God is the Father by whom all things were given life and Mary the mother through whom all things were given new life. For God begot the Son, through whom all things were made, and Mary gave birth to him as the Savior of the world. Without God’s Son, nothing could exist, without Mary’s Son, nothing could be redeemed.

Fr. Anil Prakash Castelino took the oath from the newly installed members of the conferences of the Kallianpur Area Council during the mass.

The stage programme was held at Sacred Heart Church Auditorium, Kolalgiri. Bro. Richard D’Souza President of Kallianpur Area Council spoke keynote address and welcomed the gatherings.

Prior to that, Fr, Anil graced the beginning prayers of St Vincent de Paul society. Bro Vincent Lewis Secretary of Kallianpur Area Council placed the annual report of the Kallianpur Area council.

The resource person of the day was Prathibha Braggs D’Souza, Diocesan resource person and Principal of Dhanvantari Nursing College Udupi. She appreciated the role of Vincentian for the society and need to join the youngsters to serve the society.

Fr. Anil Prakash Castelino said that the St Vincent De Paul society started by the youths in Europe under the Fredrick Ozanam. The work of Vincentian throughout the world would be appreciated for the cause of needy poor. In our diocese also there is youth conference of St Vincent De Paul Society existed in Pilar Church. He called for the youth of the diocese to join the conferences.

The President of St Vincent de Paul Society Kolalgiri Church Conference Bro. Henry Mascarenhas present on the dais. The interaction with the members was held during the programme.

Roshan D’Souza compered the programme. Sr. Queny Mary delivered the vote of thanks. Bro Felix Pinto Treasurer, Bro Denis D’Souza and Bro Karnal Crasto Vice presidents of Area Council and large number of members of nine conferences were present during the occasion.

The programme winded up with ending prayers of St Vincent de Paul Society conducted by Fr Anil. Lunch was served to all the participants.
