Udupi: Dalit Sangharsh Committee (Ambedkar) District District Convenor Sundar Mastar demanded that the reservation of this category be increased to 20% as the population of Scheduled Castes has increased substantially.
Speaking at a Press Club press conference on Saturday, January 11, he said that in the Constitution of India, the provision of social justice to untouchable communities in the caste is giving 15 per cent to the Scheduled Castes and 3 per cent to the Scheduled Tribes. He added that the reservation for Scheduled Castes, which constitute 30 per cent of the total population of the country and the state’s population, has not been raised.
According to a report by the Justice Sadashiva Commission in the state, the report does not release even though the population of this class has increased. Raising the existing 15 per cent to 17 per cent and the Scheduled Tribes from 3 per cent to 7 per cent is unscientific. His report by Justice Nagamohan Das is incomplete. He said that the 2 per cent reservation given to him by the Scheduled Caste cannot be accepted.
Opposition to reservation for non-Indigenous castes, Sundar Mastar said the coastal district should not include non-untouchable castes into the Scheduled Tribe elsewhere. Hundreds of entrepreneurs and banking cooperatives are now operating in the pastoralist system.
They are never untouchable. This species should not be added to the Scheduled Caste and Tribe. The central government recently resented that the 10 per cent reservation for the upper class was unconstitutional.
