Udupi : Milagres Cathedral  Kallianpur observed Confraternity Sunday which is also called Compri Fest on 12^th January, 2020 with gaiety and devotion. The prelude to the annual parish feast celebration held on Tuesday to Wednesday, 14^th to 15^th January 2020. The Confraternity Sunday celebrated with Eucharistic Solemn mass, Adoration and Eucharistic procession.

Rev Fr. Anil D’Souza, parish priest of Fathima Church, Parampalli concelebrated the Holy Eucharistic mass with Very Rev Fr. Lawrence C. D’Souza Rector of the Cathedral, Rev Fr. Lancy Fernandes Principal of Milagres English Schools and Rev Fr. John Bennet, Superior of Pilar Fathers, Kallianpur.

At the end of the mass, Rev Fr. Lancy Fernandes placed the weekly announcements and Fr. Lawrence C D’Souza placed the important brief announcements. Rev Fr. Dr. Lawrence handed over the charel to main firgent (Sponsor) of the annual feast Smt Felcy Lewis and family.

The brief adoration of Blessed Sacrament was held by Fr. Anil D’souza, followed by huge procession of participants of the faithful with brass band, Holy Cross carried by newly appointed vice president of parish pastoral council Jefrey Dias, Secretary Felciana Lewis and Xavier Fernandes co-coordinatorof 18 commissions, parishioners, alter boys, priests through the main road of Kallianpur and entered the main gate of Ozanam Home for the Aged and eventually placed the beautifully decorated stage at in front of Milacles building.

In his homily Fr Anil D’Souza pointed out the importance of Eucharist and Holy Eucharist is, among other things, a way Christians remember together what Jesus did for us and give thanks. The Holy Eucharist is the font of energy to live in freedom, to love as Christ loves, purely and selflessly. It is before all else the joy filled discovery of love at work in the hearts of those who accept the Lord’s gift, abandon themselves to Him and thus find true freedom. It is our intimacy with Lord in the Holy Eucharist which at one and the same time, makes us conscious of our own sinfulness and inflames our desire to live always in Christ and therefore to love as He loves.

At the end, Fr. Lawrence C D’Souza gave gratitude to Fr Anil and all concerned for the Confraternity Sunday. Cold drink and puffs were given to all participants.
