Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur celebrates annual feast with devotion and fervour

Udupi : Milagres Cathedral Kallianpur of Udupi diocese celebrated its annual feast with devotion and fervor on Wednesday, January 15, 2020.

 

Prior to the Solemn Eucharistic celebration on the occasion of ‘Wodle Festh’ donors, benefactors, and sponsors were honoured with special candle by the Rector of the Cathedral Very Rev Dr. Lawrence C D’Souza.

The prime celebrant of the festival mass Very Rev Fr. Dianious Vas, Rector of St Aloysius, Mangaluru led priests, pirgent family with the Cheryl, liturgy participants, Jeffry Dias Vice President and Felciana Lewis secretary of the parish pastoral council, Xavier Fernandes Coordinator of 18 Commissions of the parish participated in a procession along with the Sunshine Brass Band of Parempally from the Vicar’s house and entered the Cathedral through the main door to celebrate the annual feast High Solemn Mass.

Rev Fr. Dainious Vas was the chief celebrant of the Eucharistic celebration along with more than 30 priests from the deanery, guest priests, parish local priests from other diuoceses and former priests of the church.

 

 

In his homily Fr Dianious Vas said that the parishioners’ celebrating the annual feast to thankful to God through Our Lady of Miracles. There is upper place to Mother Mary in the church. He said there are three types of the people that there are fire spreading people, there are people who just looking into the spread of fire and other people are who trying to end the fire spreading. We should instead spread the fire and just looking, we should try to solve the fire spreading further. Mother Mary to tried to help to those who are in needy and she helped to spread the mission of the God.

Mother Mary is the role model to us who keep on helping the needy. She said what he tells you, shall do that. He said the revolution of love first starts in home. Father and Mother are two eyes of the family. There should need to keep the faith in our family alive. She has not only inspiration for us but for all. The more we turn to her, the more she will be able to help us.

The beautiful choir led by Rev Fr. Lancy Fernandes SJ enhanced the solemnity of the annual feast Eucharistic celebrations with melodious hymns by glorious choir group members which one of the best choir group in the diocese.

 

 

The closed circuit televisions were installed inside and outside the Cathedral for the benefit for scores of devotees. The pirgent Mrs Precilla Lewis and family were honoured with beautiful decorated the candles by the main celebrant of the mass.

At the end of solemn celebration of the Eucharist, Very Rev Dr. Lawrence C D’Souza conveyed his greetings to all concerned of the parish and the priests as well. He also expressed gratitude to main celebrant of the mass, concelebrants of all the priests who were participated from deanery, other deanery priests, friend priests, local “mannina maga” priests and others. He also thankful to Vice President Jeffry Dias, Felciana Lewis, parish council secretary, parish pastoral council members, heads of seven educational institutions, superiors of two convents and nuns, Pilar Fathers and all concerned. He gave gratitude to choir members, donors and others.

 

 

Milagres Cathedral ICYM and YCS organized various games at the stall. Housie game was played with large participants with the expectation of huge cash prizes donated by some donors. Large number of devotees without any caste and religions offered candles for Milagres Amma, Our Lady of Miracles.
