Udupi: Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh appealed to the Udupi district police superintendent to take action against a man who has abused Udupi Catholic diocesan top religious leader Bishop Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo  in a defamatory words in social media.

On Sunday, January 19, 2020, a large gathering of Catholics of the Udupi district level  was held in the premises of Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte in Udupi district. The inauguration was conducted by the Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, the Udupi religious leader. We have noticed on Facebook that a man named Mohan Salian has taken up the issue of his speech and defamed the Catholic Bishop with defamatory words.

Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, the most prestigious religious leader in the Udupi district, is a disgrace to the entire Christian community. A post by a man named Mohan Salian has already gone viral on all sides, allowing him to disturb the peace.

The Christian community in the Udupi district has been living in peace for the past several years and it is unfortunate that some persons are carrying out the work of disturbing the goodwill, urging the entire district’s Christian community to take appropriate legal action against him. Similarly, he has called for appropriate action to be taken so that such incidents do not continue.

 Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh President Alwyn Quadras, Secretary Santosh Cornelio, Treasurer Gerald P K D’Souza, Rodriguez, Joint Secretary Gregory,  Former President Walter Cyril Pinto, Udupi Deanery former President Mary D’Souza, Henry D’Souza and others were present during the handing over the appeal to the Superintendent of Police at his office.
