Udupi : BJP and RSS are trying to erase reservations to SC, ST, OBC and other backward communities which has their agenda. The ideology of the BJP and RSS is against the reservation, said Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, District President of Indian Congress Party.

He was addressing during the protest meet organized by Udupi District Congress Committee and Women’s Congress in front of Martyrs’ Memorial at Ajjarkad near here on Monday, February 17, Kodavoor condemned the decision of union government in relate to planning to cancel SC, ST and OBC reservation in the country. He also condemned the increase of LPG cylinders prices by the Union government.

Neere Krishna Shetty, Karkala Block Congress President said that Modi and Amit Shah dividing the nation in the name of caste politics, religion politics, and reservation politics. Modi government trying to bring the civil revolution in the country and the nation is under threat. Modi planned to own aero- plane for his overseas journey at the cost of more than 100 crores. BJP loosing elections in the state and it will lose election in other part of the country due to his worst hit policies.

Former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake said that since the Union Government had not provided proper information, the Supreme Court recently delivered a judgment affecting reservations for the SC/ST. As a result of the Union Government’s attitude, it would no longer be binding on states to fill posts under reservations for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and other backward communities. There would be no reservation in promotions for SC/ST would hamper the progress of these communities.

He said there were protests in different parts of the country over the CAA and NRC because they were discriminatory. Some laws were being passed despite them being unconstitutional, he said.
