Print Udupi : In a tragic accident in late evening on Thursday, February 20, a women died on the spot as a private express bus hit the scooter when she was travelling at Kinnimulki near Sri Govinda Kalyan Mantapa.
Mamata Poojary (35) a resident of Alavoor Gram Panchayat, Nandagokula Sudhakar Poojari’s wife, beauty parlor Malaki Ambalapadi, has been identified. The accident happened at around 8.45 pm on Thursday when she was on his way to the Govinda Kalyana Mantap to refuel his scooter with a Kinnimulki petrol pump.
The driver of the private bus, AKMS, which was traveling from Mangalore to Udupi, was caught on the left side of the bus and died on the spot, police said.
The bus driver has escaped from the scene after the accident. The bus had pulled Scooty away from the accident.
Eyewitnesses said the bus driver was speaking on mobile and was driving the bus.

Until and unless police and traffic dept takes strict action on some of private bus drivers for their negligent and over speed, such tragic accidents are happening daily in Udupi/Mangalore.  Agree[1]
