Udupi: Fake news has been circulating on social media about coronavirus spreading, so that the public should not believe the rumors and be shocked and apprehensive. However, the DHO has urged the doctors to take necessary precautions to understand the symptoms of the disease. Sudhir Chandra Sooda said.

He spoke at a DHO office on Thursday, March 5, at a news conference about measures taken to control coronavirus in the district.

He said that a 75-year-old man who arrived to Udupi from Israel on Tuesday was called to the district headquarters for a check-up of the symptoms and a throat swab, which was sent to Bengaluru for a check-up after he was diagnosed with coronavirus. After the report, he said he was sure whether he had a coronary infection or was considering a future treatment.

Department staff has been instructed to monitor the coronavirus symptoms extensively in the district who arrive from abroad and other states and those arrive from abroad should meet district hospital for health check up on corona virus.

He said that students from abroad are in constant contact with the MAHE University.
