Udupi: Coronavirus infection has been confirmed for the ASI of the District Armed Forces Reserve, who worked for a week at the office of the district superintendent here. Because of this the SP office was sanitized two days ago. It is said that many of them had come into contact at SP office.

Vishnuvardhan, Distirct Superintendent of Police informed the media today that a section of the media on Monday reported that there was a possibility of SP office being sealed down and closed for the public over the rise in coronavirus positive cases among some policemen. He dismissed such report in the media.

SP Vishnuvardhan carried to the media in the message that some confusion of SP office being closed as one DAR staff being tested positive. “I wish to clarify SP office WILL NOT BE CLOSED. We had sanitized the premises two days back in view of large footfall of public for passes and other reasons. However we will sanitize the premises once again and will use as usual. There is no reasons to panic and I repeat SP OFFICE WILL NOT BE CLOSED” SP said.

SP also requesting all media to clarify the same that lot of people are asking if SP office will be closed. He also clarified that such news is false and SP office will function as usual.

Further SP said that in fact we had the idea of Sanitizing all Police Stations and office in view of large footfall of public during last few months. It will be done as precautionary measure in phased manner.

Moreover, DAR staff will be at entrance and he will have minimum contact inside the SP office. He mainly works as guard and sentry, SP Vishnuvardhan said.
