- Subject: Our Samitis demand to open the border from Karnataka to Maharastra with immidiate effect and welcome Kannadigas and Tuluvas from Mumbai and Maharashtra to the undivided Dakshina Kannada and Karnataka state who will be traveling by Buses, Cars, Train, Flights etc.
Most Respected Yediyurappa Jii
- You are well aware of the facts of samitis activities as NGO from the year 2000 on wards which has contributed the growth and development of undivided Dakshina Karurada and also Karnataka state through Samitis far sighted views and. timely actions with the help of various MLAs, MPs and ministers from the Karnataka state and Government of India of all political parties.
- Samiti has a biggest credit from the Central Government the day firebrand leader, then defense minister and NDA convener Shri George Fernandes Ji re assumed as a Defense Minister on19-10-2001 he wrote on the same day the letter to the Samiti as the first serial number letter ref no. D.O.No.01/RW/2001, dated 19-10-2001 same reproduced below.
Dear Jayakrishna,
Thank you for your message of congratulations on my re-assuming the office of Defense Minister. I look forward to your continued support in our endeavor to deliver our commitments to the people and to build a strong and secure India.
- Sir you are the great dynamic political leader of Karnataka with utmost dedication and hard work throughout your life which is very very commendable.
- Sir you as a chief minister in your last term helped our Samiti in all respects on the various issues taken up by our Samiti pertaining to the development of our undivided Dakshina Kannada and Karnataka state.
- Samiti had a Zoom video virtual meeting on 29th May,2020 to review the problems faced by people of Karnataka origin at Mumbai and Maharashtra due to the larger complaints received by the Samiti from the various sectors of the Kannadigas residing at Mumbai pertaining to their present living conditions after covid-19 Lock down imposed by the state and central government.
- The virtual meeting was attended by 42 eminent leaders of various community organizations of Karnataka origin including professionals, social workers, social activists and thinkers and they all expressed their ANGUISH towards the present situation of migrant workers, hotel workers and general Kannadigas due to the wrong decision by the Government.
- In the virtual meeting it has been unanimously decided to approach the chief minister of Karnataka - Hon Yediyurappa Ji to consider the following immediately without wasting further time at the interest of Kannadigas and help them to come out from their sufferings.
- Government of Karnataka and Government of Maharashtra along with Central Government to coordinate and order for lifting the ban to enter any part of Karnataka either by road or by air.
- The number of trains to Mangaluru and other parts of Karnataka to be started immediately as per earlier schedule.
- Travel by road to be allowed with immediate effect all quarantine guidelines should be strict$ observed / implemented.
- Covid-19 negative cases to be allowed to have home quarantine for 7 days only.
- E-passes should be issued on priority for traveling independently for the buses, cars and other mode of road transport.
- The institutional quarantine facilities to be upgraded with hygienic food and sanitizers from time to time during the quarantine stay. They should be treated with special care and not like prisoners.
- It is totally wrong to put the whole lot of people directly to the institutional quarantine arriving to Karnataka from other states, only corona virus infected people should be put on institutional quarantine and all others should be put under home quarantine only for 7 days, this will save several crores of rupees to the Exchequer which should be noted very seriously.
In view of Pandemic restrictions, we could not meet you with delegation. It is our humble request to your good offices please consider our Samitis demands and suggestions and pass suitable orders to the competent Administrative Departments.
Sir we request you to take our above representations very very seriously and act immediately without wasting any further time as the said matter is of a Serious CONCERN as the certain section of Kannadigas at Mumbai and Maharashtra suffering very badly and many of them doesn’t have money on hand and also lacks of Kannadigas lost their jobs and they want to reach their villages at Karnataka.
Thanking You,
Thonse ]ayakrishna Shetty, Founder and President
Hiriadka Mohandas, Hon. Gen. Secretary,
Jaya Shreekrishna Parisara Premi Samiti.
