Police arrests underworld don Ravi Poojary’s close associate Hejmady Gulam Mohammed

Print Mangaluru : The Central Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested Hejmady Ghulam Mohammed in Mangalore, a close associate of underworld don Ravi Poojary.
He has been accused of making innumerable extortion calls under instruction from Ravi Poojary. Ghulam was assisting in the criminal activity of the underworld don Ravi Poojary, including extortion. He was produced in court and given 10 days of police custody.
CCB police said that they expect more information about the Ravi Poojary from Gulam Mohd’s inquiry. Ravi Poojary is currently counting the barracks at Parappana Agrahara jail. 46 FIRs have been filed against him in Bangalore. Of the 20 cases of murder, attempted murder, extortion, hafta vasuli and threats, the remaining 26 cases have proven guilty under the illegal money laundering regime, a top source said.
There are more than 120 cases against the gangster in Mumbai and the Mumbai police are waiting for him. Many of the cases against Ravi Poojari, which were recorded in the country several decades ago, have now, come to life.
It is said that Ravi Poojary owns hundreds of crores of property and assets in Senegal, Africa. A team of ED officials, already tracking the value of the property, is preparing to forfeit.
