Where do We go from Here after Covid-19 by Joseph Saldanha, Kemmannu

Joseph Saldanha is from Kemmannu. He studied in Mumbai and worked in the United Kingdom. He now works in India as an IT consultant. He is an Internet Service Provider (ISP) in Mumbai / Thane.

July 14, 2020

I have an office in Brindavan, Thane. Things were going on very well March 20th 2020 till someone in my Housing Society returned from Dubai & expired because of coronavirus. My office was sealed and I had to work on the steps in front of my office. Within a few hours I realized we are a part of essential services that help people to ‘Work from Home’ during the Lockdown. Next day I went to the DC’s office and tried to convince him but he was very adamant with his decision. Finally I had to threaten him saying if my 5,000 users don’t get Internet they will either go back to office or sit outside his office under protest.

The next morning he relented & let me open my office.

Two of my engineers live in Ullhasnagar and since there was no transport they lived in the office and we pooled in our resources to do the needful.

Three months have passed but this ordeal never seems to be ending. I don’t blame our Politicians because they have average qualifications and are not very proactive or talented.

The best of brains do B Tech, M Tech or MBA and go abroad.

The average people end up working in Banks or Commercial Offices.

The below average people join the Municipal Service, Police or Politics.

World Health Organization (WHO) is a responsible institution but of late they are giving out weird statements saying Corona will strike back again & we may have to live with this virus for a long time.

This Lockdown has broken the back of many large Economies like USA and UK.

India’s GDP has already moved in the negative zone & to make matters worse India’s politicians have mindless increased fuel rates for 14 consecutive days. People have lost their jobs and most of them are wondering from where they would get their next meal.

If we don’t take a corrective step now we are all Doomed.

Now some Statistics about Death.

Every sixth death in the world is due to Cancer.

Thousands of people die every day because of Accidents / Heart Attacks / Diseases / Corona Virus.

We cannot continue to sit at home and further make our life further miserable.

Our Politicians cannot take any decision because:

1. They don’t have much Education.

2. They are scared of losing their political seat.

Now we have to decide what to do next. We have already sat at home for three months.

Now let us get back to the grind with a bit of Caution and Safety.

1. Wear a mask whenever we get out of our home.

2. Maintain Social Distancing - Minimum 5 feet.

3. Avoid going to crowded places or using public transport.

4. Drink Warm Fluids every day.

5. Eat Fresh Vegetables & Fruits to improve your body resistance.

6. Every night before going to bed have a cup of warm milk with Turmeric.

7. Medicines for coronavirus have already started to come in the market.

8. Avoid tensions

Together we will defeat coronavirus.

The article says where to go from here after Covid 19. But there is nothing that covers that topic. WHO has been right on it’s part and clear everyday new updates come up, regarding the virus and they keep the people posted about it. In my personal opinion people should stop blaming the govt and start living with the virus.
