136 new cases for coronavirus test positive on August 1, district tally increases to 4492

Udupi : As many as One Hundred and Thirty Six new cases for Coronavirus test positive reported on Saturday, August 1, which takes the total positive cases in the district so far to 4492.
As many as 1316 persons are currently in home quarantine.
A total of 306 people are in isolation wards including 30 fresh admissions on Saturday. Among the new admissions in isolation wards there is 5 Coronavirus suspect; 10 have Severe Acute Respiratory System (SARI) and 15 are influenza like illness (ILI). As many as 1647 people, including 35 Saturday have been released from Isolation wards so far.
A total of 32,401 samples have been collected so far including 736 on Saturday, out of which 437 are covid suspects and 202 are covid contacts, 4 are SARI, 71 are ILI and other Hot Spot are 22.
A total of 27,463 samples have turned out to be negative so far in the district, including 716 on Saturday and 446 reports are awaited.
As many as 4492 confirmed positive cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including 136 on Saturday, August 1.
As many as 2646 patients have been discharged so far, including 124 patients are discharged from Covid hospitals today. 1811 cases are currently active. Thirty Five deaths have occurred so far in the district. One positive case has been transferred to Dakshina Kannada district.

Udupi, Feb 10: The Vande Mataram Coastal Cyclothon-2026 rally by the Central Industrial Security Force will be held in the district on February 18. Additional Deputy Commissioner Abid Gadyal instructed that necessary preparations should be made to make this cycling rally a success.
