Print Mangalore: Ivan D’Souza, a former member of the Karnataka Legislative Council (MLC) and his wife Dr Kavita, a doctor, have been infected with Covid-19. Both were admitted to a private hospital in the city.
Ivan D’Souza and his wife voluntarily gave samples of throat fluid on Friday evening for Covid’s checkup. Reports on Saturday confirmed the two were infected with coronavirus positive. Ivan shared this information on his official Twitter account.
According to his official twitter said, “We have no symptoms of infection. Still, I and my wife voluntarily gave the throat fluid samples for testing. Reportedly, the infection has been confirmed. There is no need to worry. Ivan tweeted, "I appeal to friends and well wishers that no one comes to visit us."
Participated in the meetings were: KPCC President DK. Shivakumar and Vice President Salim Ahmed visited Dakshina Kannada district for the first time on Friday after the assuming the office. Ivan D’Souza has attended many meetings with them. Ivan was also with DK Shivakumar when he met former MLA Vijayakumar Shetty. He also attended a meeting held at the District Congress office. Salim Ahmed had distributed the food kits to the city’s auto drivers.
